An Exercise in Descriptive Writing: Kazakh Flag

A fun little exercise to stretch your creative writing muscles, describe this flag in two sentences:

The Most Beautiful Flag in the World

Wikipedia:

A gold sun with 32 rays above a soaring golden steppe eagle, both centered on a sky blue field. The hoist side displays a national ornamental pattern “koshkar-muiz”.

Draft 1:

A field of turquoise with a great golden eagle wings stretched upwards, gazing westward, and carrying the Macedonian sun.

Draft 2:

A great golden eagle turning westward and wings stretched upwards amidst a turquoise field. Above him, the golden sun shedding tear drop rays. On the far west edge, the ornaments of the people of Kazakhstan written in gold.

Draft 3:

A golden eagle gazing westward, wings stretched upwards amidst a teal sky. Above him, the golden sun shedding tear drop rays. In his gaze, the ornaments of the people of Kazakhstan drawn in gold.

Draft 4:

A golden eagle gazing westward, wings stretched upwards amidst a teal sky. In his gaze, the ornaments of the people of Kazakhstan drawn in gold and above him, a golden sun shedding tear drop rays.
