Another Poem about the Camp Fire

Gray are our days

Long days spent bent

Below clouds of haze

Mountains of fire spent

-

The heavy air draws

Panting dogs, wheezing codgers

Sifting air through straws

Breaths full of dangers

-

Is this the promised future?

Of plenty and prosperity

Crowds stepping in manure

Walls of glass without clarity

Reflections on the Camp Fire now ever more present with the current firestorms engulfing California. It is amazing how preoccupied I was with my own suffering while an entire city burned to the ground but such is the human condition I guess.

I write code and occasionally, bad poetry. Thankfully, my code isn’t as bad as my poetry.
